Scope of the Program:

Focus on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders that has spread so much within Saudi Arabia particularly with the proven relationship of chronic diseases with sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia and excessive sleepiness.

Training and graduation of trained staff capable of diagnosing and treating patients.

Adopt a scientific degree in the field of sleep medicine.

Keep up with global progress in international universities.
Learning Objectives:

Graduating well trained health staff in the field of sleep medicine who are able to diagnose and treat common sleep disorders in our society, such as insomnia, sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome.

Conducting research and different scientific studies on sleep disorders.

Community awareness about sleep disorders, which will be reached by graduating such well-trained staff
Main Clinical Competencies:
The evaluation of the fellows will be a continuous process throughout the program. The fellow will be assessed based on basic and clinical medical knowledge, clinical judgment, clinical skill (medial interview, psychical examination, and procedure skills), humanistic quality, professionalism, and provision of medical care. This assessment will be documented at end of each rotation or at two months interval for long rotations. The aim of such assessment is to ensure feedback to the trainee as part of educational process and to explore weak points and focus on resolutions. The data provided by the logbook will be taken into consideration as part of continuous assessment. All these tools will assure that the clinical skills will be of high international quality.
